MCAST Gateway to Industry Ltd (MG2i), the commercial arm of the College, was set up in 2008 by a Memorandum of Association dated 22nd August 2008 in order to support, enhance and complement the operation of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST).

This Mission Statement reinforces the existing MCAST’s conviction that student’s interests is the predominant raison d’être of the College’s operation.  Equally important is the support of the academic staff through the academic continuous professional development and through industrial exposure to keep abreast of the respective industrial innovation.

The core business of the company is the provision of vocational part-time courses in response to the needs of industry, both locally and overseas. Over 300 different courses are launched in October and March Intakes. 

The MG2i courses are to meet the requirements of the following industrial sectors:  

• Mechanical Engineering including Aviation Maintenance and the Automobile Industry
• Electrical and Electronics Engineering including Green and Alternative Energy
• Applied Science, including health sciences
• Construction and Building Services Engineering
• Art and Design and Media Industry
• Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
• Community Services including Health and Social care
• Business and Commerce
• Maritime Training, including Nautical licence Course

MG2i has provided various training to the local Industry, and also finalised negotiations for customised and specialised training to an overseas institution.  It is the Company’s aim to provide general, as well as, specialised consultancy and research services.
